This season he was the best pitcher in the league according to the SION voters.
Shiriru Juzaburo of the Chinandega was in command and couldn't do much wrong when he was on the mound.
His outstanding 8-0 won-lost mark and 1.67 ERA were big factors in him winning the 2011 South American League Platinum Arm Award.
In 75.2 innings of work and 8 starts, Juzaburo struck out 38 while giving up 51 hits and 13 walks. He held opposing batters to a .190 average.
For his fine season the SION Baseball Writers Association will present Juzaburo his trophy this weekend at its annual awards dinner.

 | Friday, July 22nd, 2011: Chinandega Shut Out by Mingucha
Desi Mingucha of the Shreveport was on fire against Chinandega. He shut them down 5-0 on 4 hits and no runs with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Mingucha said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
To date in 2011, Mingucha sports a 8-8 mark with a 4.74 ERA in 20 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .272 batting average and has 59 strikeouts in 117.2 innings.

 | Sunday, June 26th, 2011: Latrobe Cruises to Shutout
Gil Latrobe was dynamite today and just blew Chinandega away in the 2-0 victory. The Córdoba starter had everything working as he hurled a 3-hit shutout over the Chinandega, recording 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"He was pure nasty out there today. I don't think any team in the would've had a chance against what he was bringing," said the Chinandega skipper during his postgame press conference.
So far this year Latrobe has 6 wins and 3 losses and a 3.99 ERA.
