Friday, October 14th, 2011: Great Stroke! Cobb, IV Gets 5 Hits!
What a day for Tyrus Cobb, IV of the Las Vegas Aliens! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Nashville pitching apart at The Crop Circle and sparked the Aliens to a 8-6 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-5.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Cobb, IV told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."

T. Cobb, IV singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off B. Kelly in the 8th.

So far in 2011 Cobb, IV is batting .337 with 15 home runs, 80 RBIs and 109 runs scored. He has 221 hits in 655 at-bats and a .407 OBP.
Tuesday, August 30th, 2011: Big Day for Magana! Swats 5 Hits!
Jose Magana had an answer for everything the Nashville Noise threw him today in the Salt Lake City 6-1 triumph at Tribune Field. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.

The Salt Lake City left fielder went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.

Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Magana said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."

J. Magana singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

In 126 games this year Magana has posted a .330 average and put up these numbers: 7 home runs, 62 RBIs and 93 runs scored.
Monday, August 29th, 2011: Lynch Goes 5-6
Stephen Lynch was on fire today and sparked his club to a 7-6 victory over the Noise. The Salt Lake City third baseman was a tough out and went 5 for 6 against Nashville in a fine hitting display.

"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody...and some days they fall in."

S. Lynch singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 10th.

Lynch is currently hitting at a .315 pace with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs.
