On the hill Andrew Keaton stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Port-au-Prince 4-0.
At bat the Nez Longue floundered, fizzled and failed to score.
"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Port-au-Prince manager said. "He kept us off balance."
The Bogotá pitcher hurled a 4-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 1 walk and numbered 7 strikeouts.
"I felt good," Keaton said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."
His record in 2011 is 18-7 in 31 starts and Keaton has a 2.72 ERA.

 | Saturday, October 1st, 2011: Garrison - September's Pitcher of the Month
When Travis Garrison takes the mound, a Bogotá victory is usually the result. That was the the case in September.
That's why he was voted the South American Pitcher of the Month.
Garrison throttled league hitters the whole month with an impressive 4-0 mark and 1.50 ERA in 5 starts. The Scholars star hurler also rung up 40 strikeouts in 36 innings.
This year Garrison has fanned 186 in 216.1 innings and collected a 18-7 record with a 2.79 ERA.

 | Monday, September 26th, 2011: South American Announces #1 Player
The South American has selected its Player of the Week. The honor went to Ernesto Guiraldes, shortstop of the Bogotá Scholars.
In a standout performance, he lit up the league with a .538 average to win the award. Guiraldes went 14-26 for the week, totaled no home runs with 2 RBIs and scored 5 times.
Guiraldes is hitting .348 in 2011 with 54 RBIs and 3 home runs.
