| Breaking News |  | Sunday, September 25th, 2011: Portland's Guerrera Out 1-2 Weeks Portland fans will be disappointed to learn that Tito Guerrera developed a damaged meniscus while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Portland Meteors manager that Guerrera was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the second baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
In 2011 Guerrera is hitting .260 with 147 hits, 10 home runs, 73 RBIs, .357 OBP and has scored 79 runs. |  | Saturday, August 27th, 2011: Portland's Mada Out 8 Months Gajah Mada had to leave the Meteors game against Indianapolis after suffering a ruptured tricep tendon while throwing a pitch. He will be out of the lineup at least 8 months. He told SION reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong."
To this point in the season Mada has 8 wins and 8 losses and a 4.84 ERA. |  | Wednesday, August 17th, 2011: Billings Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Montana Billings really sizzled at the plate in today's 4-0 win over Meteors. The New Orleans right fielder blistered Portland for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Billings was too tough to get out today," the Meteors skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
M. Billings singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Billings has collected 138 hits for the Pelicans this year, 21 of them home runs.
