Monday, November 7th, 2011: Rio de Janeiro Wins Americas Cup!
The Rio de Janeiro Panthers concluded the season in grand fashion -- they won the Western Hemisphere Baseball League Americas Cup. They nailed it down at Teflon Field by whipping the Las Vegas Aliens 9-8 to win it all. They took the series 5-4.

Their motto for the season was "Win or Die Trying".

"They never let up and they never stopped trying the whole season," the Panthers manager proudly told reporters. "They hustled and fought the whole season and it continued in the playoffs. They are a very special bunch of guys."

To get their 1st league crown, the Panthers finished up the regular season in the South American Southern Division with a 117-45 record, ending up in first place in the division standings.
Saturday, October 15th, 2011: Cobb, IV Misses Time with Day-to-Day Injury
Tyrus Cobb, IV, the talented Las Vegas star, suffered a bruised wrist yesterday in the game with the Noise, which could keep him out of today's lineup. "I'm a bit banged up," said the 33-year-old second baseman, "but we won't know until game time if I can play or not." Cobb, IV got hurt while running the bases. The team doctor said he could be out up to 1-2 weeks.

This season Cobb, IV has hit at a .337 clip with 80 RBIs, 15 home runs and 109 runs scored.
Friday, October 14th, 2011: Great Stroke! Cobb, IV Gets 5 Hits!
What a day for Tyrus Cobb, IV of the Las Vegas Aliens! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Nashville pitching apart at The Crop Circle and sparked the Aliens to a 8-6 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-5.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Cobb, IV told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."

T. Cobb, IV singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off B. Kelly in the 8th.

So far in 2011 Cobb, IV is batting .337 with 15 home runs, 80 RBIs and 109 runs scored. He has 221 hits in 655 at-bats and a .407 OBP.
