| Breaking News | | Sunday, July 31st, 2011: Calgary Swaps Santucci to Lima for Penson The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Calgary Nighthawks sent 33-year old right fielder Frank Santucci and a 3rd round draft pick to the Lima Toros for 33-year old starting pitcher John Penson.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
This year Santucci is batting .196 with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs.

Opposing clubs are batting .310 against him and he has 55 strikeouts. | | Saturday, July 2nd, 2011: Calgary Second Baseman Out It took the Calgary team doctor a while to realize it, but second baseman Timothy Sanchez won't simply play through a scratched cornea after he got hurt being hit by a pitch in today's Speed-Nighthawks game. At first, it looked like Sanchez might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 4 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Sanchez as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
Thus far in 2011 Sanchez is batting .280 with 10 home runs, 38 RBIs and 47 runs scored. | | Monday, June 27th, 2011: Hot Hitter! Faria Blisters Nashville!
