Halfball

-The Future Sport-

Halfball has a wonderful and legendary history. The World Halfball League (WHBL) is here to continue sharing & making that history with communities throughout Earth and beyond. We believe this sport has the power to establish peace in the Milky Way.

Thomas Cosmo Harper, affectionately called “The Commish”, is the founder of the WHBL. The Commish grew up playing the game with his seven older brothers and sister Cinni in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1950’s. Cosmo brought the game to the West Coast when he moved to Seattle, Washington the 1970’s.

The vision of the Commish is comprehensive and expansive all at once. In order to grow the World Halfball League into a true force to benefit all life on Earth, the Commish is organizing and delegating multiple tiers of leagues. The regional league closest to where he now calls home is the Pacific Northwest Halfball League (NWHBL). The next tier from there is the US National Halfball League (USNHBL). A step up from the national is the World Halfball League (WHBL). Beyond the world league, which focuses on the world we call Earth, is the Galactic Halfball League (GHBL).

The Galactic Halfball League explores more alien forms of Halfball which utilize electronics. GHBL merges Esports with the physical aspects of traditional halfball and takes the imaginative aspect of the game to a whole new level with computer generated graphics, augmented reality, mixed reality, and virtual reality.

WHBL is here to support you to get out and play and have more fun than you ever thought was possible. Whether you are playing the traditional forms on a local level with limited resources or fixing to operate with all the flashy future gear, we want to connect and build with you. Use the different league registration forms to begin the process of registering as an individual or a team in one or more league.

For further background on the sport and some details regarding different regional variations of rules, see the Wikipedia page on Halfball.
